Branka Aukst Margetić, MD, PhD, assistant professor, scientific advisor, born on May 26, 1966, in Tuzla, Bosnia nad Herzegovina. In 1991 she graduated from the School of Medicine, University of Zagreb. In 2001 she was psychiatry resident in Neuropsychiatry hospital Dr. Ivan Barbot, in 2008 she completed subspecialization in biological psychiatry and education in several psychoterapeutic techniques. In 2006 she obtained MSc degree, and in 2010 PhD at the School of Medicine, University of Zagreb. From 2009 to 2017 she worked at the Department of Psychiatry, University Hospital Centre Zagreb, and since 2017 she has been employed at the Sisters of Mercy University Hospital Centre as the head of the Day hospital for schizophrenia and related disorders. She holds scientific-teaching position at the School of Medicine, University of Zagreb, University of Mostar School of Medicine, and Department of nursing of the Catholic University of Croatia. She published 70 papers indexed in Current Contents, over 120 scientific and professional papers in reviewed journals, ten book chapters, and over 70 congress communications. She was cited over 1,300 times. She is a reviewer for many highly indexed international scientific journals. She participated in several international projects and was an invited lecturer at local and international congresses. She mentored one doctoral and several graduation theses. Her fields of interest are psychosomatic medicine, consultative psychiatry, and schizophrenia.
